Lady in Red

Justin Suico

Born on December 6, 1985, Suico is a visual artist from Chicago, IL. Pioneering the emerging Abstract Literature movement, Suico’s paintings have been shown all over Chicago, in Miami’s Art Basel, and in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. Recently, Suico made a return to Miami and immediately made a cultural and artistic impact with the top private closing event of Miami’s Art Basel week in South Beach titled COCO Miami. His artistic visions curated and produced his own event that also included co-artist Tom Franco, which begun to break the mold of the conventional artist presentation. After a series of intense competitive art battles throughout the year, Suico became a finalist in the 2018 Midwest Regional Art Battle final in Chicago. Suico’s piece ‘An Artist’s Heart’ was also ranked in the top 20 artworks at the 2017 AFLC exhibition, outranking 121 national artists as determined by prominent jurors Jerry Saltz (Senior Art Critic of New York Magazine), and Tony Karman (President & Director of Expo Chicago). His solo show at the Elephant Room Gallery has gained much attention from TV and radio interviews from WCIU's The JAM! and WBEZ Chicago radio, becoming the talk of the town.

Endeavoring to continuously reimagine his art through cultural immersion, Suico has painted in a number of international locations including Reykjavik, Barcelona, Montreal, Florence, Rome, and Paris. His natural artistic eye has allowed him to curate multiple successful popups such as the SCOUT’s VIP access party for Hollywood executives & agents from Comedy Central, ABC, Dreamworks, Netflix, WME, CAA, UTA, and Paradigm. In 2017 he became a key committee member for Art for Life Chicago, which recently raised $80,000 for HIV research. Furthermore, Suico is a committee member for Saving City Tails and is assisting in developing an art program for Karam, a NFP helping Syrian refugee children adjust to a new life in America.
